I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to think this way about all of you, because you hold me in your heart, for all of you share in God’s grace with me, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I long for all of you with the compassion of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to help you to determine what is best, so that in the day of Christ you may be pure and blameless, having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.

When the waitress at the diner asks you if you’d like “a warm up” on your coffee: how does that feel?
How can you offer a “spiritual warm up” in the Cup of Wonder in your friends lives?
Clutter is the physical manifestation of unmade decisions fueled by procrastination. ~Christina Scalise
No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background or his religion. People learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite. ~Nelson Mandela
As he that fears God fears nothing else, so he that sees God sees everything else. ~ John Donne
Deliver me, O Jesus,
From the desire of being esteemed,
From the desire of being loved,
From the desire of being honored,
From the desire of being praised,
From the desire of being preferred to others,
From the desire of being consulted,
From the desire of being approved,
And from the desire to be popular. Deliver me, O Jesus,
From the fear of being humiliated,
From the fear of being despised,
From the fear of being rebuked,
From the fear of being slandered,
From the fear of being forgotten,
From the fear of being ridiculed,
From the fear of being wronged,
From the fear of being treated unfairly
And from the fear of being suspected.
And, dear Jesus, grant me the grace
to desire that others be more loved than I,
that others might be more esteemed than I,
that in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I decrease,
that others may be chosen and I may be set aside,
that others may be preferred to me in everything,
that others may become holier than I, provided that I, too, become as holy as I can.

Prayer: *pray for this process of re-freshing.
For our tendency to want the other person to be a finished product while we give ourselves the grace to evolve, Lord hear our prayer. #credittdjakes
